COASTAL CONSERVATION PROJECT COORDINATOR: A Permanent, Part-time Position. Job Number- 43874. Pay: Based on qualifications. Dates: Start: February 2016.
Location: The Nature Conservancy, Sandusky, Ohio.
Qual: Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management or related field and 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Arc GIS. Experience managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple projects and project contacts Experience handling standard business communications.
Duties: The Coastal Conservation Project Coordinator works in a program or preserve office and provides project management, research, administrative, and other general assistance to program staff working toward the achievement of protection, conservation or stewardship goals. The Nature Conservancy is presently negotiating office space for the Coastal Conservation Project Coordinator near Sandusky, Ohio. The Coastal Conservation Project Coordinator provides support for coastal project management, research, and program administration, as well as other general assistance to program staff working toward the achievement of protection, conservation, and stewardship goals within the Lake Erie coastal area. May manage conservation data, participate in project planning, assist in processing contract and grant documentation, communicate with partners, and maintain manual project records. May include collecting, assembling, and analyzing various types of data, in the field or through document surveys, producing maps using GIS software and assisting in the production of reports. Some stewardship work on Conservancy lands should be expected as well as office work. This position works expansively on government grants, including reporting and managing timelines and contractors. Position is contingent upon funding with funding currently secured through June 2017. S/he will collaborate with other program staff to obtain funding to maintain capacity.
