PREMITTING TECHNICIAN: Two (2) Permanent, Full-time Positions. Pay: $37,112.82 - $55,669.23 annually, depending on qualifications. Dates: Start: March 1, 2016.
Location: Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Qual: The successful candidate will possess strong abilities in written and oral communications, problem solving, critical thinking, technical writing, and project management. Qualified candidates shall possess a Bachelor’s degree and have one to three years of experience in natural resources compliance, code enforcement, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Duties: The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) is seeking applications for the two full-time positions of Permitting Technician. The Permitting Technicians will be joining a team that works cross departmentally to protect and enhance natural resources within the Minnehaha Creek watershed through the administration of rules, monitoring construction for compliance, and through partnerships to achieve greater natural resource outcomes than can be achieved solely through regulation. The Permitting Technician performs a key role in the Permitting Program by processing land-use and water resource permit applications through administration of District regulations, the Wetland Conservation Act (WCA), and other locally delegated state and federal regulations. The Permitting Technician provides exceptional customer service when working with permit applicants to inform their project planning and guide them in maximizing water resource benefit and land use goals. Through their work in permit review and planning, the Permitting Technician will generate positive working relationships with the staff of cities, other government agencies, contractors, developers, and members of the public through frequent interaction and correspondence.
