The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is inviting applications for the following positions:
Position Title: Natural Resources Advanced Specialist Opt. 2 Monthly Salary Range: $4,873 – $7,392
Position Location: Dept. of Natural Resources, ORC, Division of Wildlife Resources, 28W040 St. Rt. 58, Elgin, IL (Cook County)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, 1 hour lunch, Saturday & Sunday off.
Description of Duties
Under general direction of the Program Manager, provides professional management and planning services for the Urban Deer Project and the Forest Wildlife Program. Reviews and prepares technical plans and reports related to deer and urban deer management. Collects and reviews biological information for the development and implementation of the urban Deer Project and Forest Game Program; provides an extension service related to urban deer; issues deer removal permits; develops and recommends administrative rules relative to urban deer management; serves as a representative of the Office Field Operations as required.
Desirable Education, Training and Experience
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of Bachelor’s degree in wildlife or natural heritage resource management or in a related biological science. Requires 4 years of professional experience in wildlife or natural heritage resource management.
