Duck Banding Technician
Location: Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada
Duration: July 28-August 28
Salary: $2,200; lodging (shared room in modern bed and breakfast) and meals will be reimbursed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a degree or be working towards a degree in wildlife or related field
- Must have clear writing and note-taking skills
- Must be physically fit and capable of walking thru mud
- Must be able to work long hours in potentially adverse weather conditions
- Must be able to work as part of a small team and communicate well with others
- Must have or be able to obtain a Passport
- Must not have a criminal record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of waterfowl ecology
- Experience handling and banding waterfowl
- Ability to construct, repair, and maintain equipment
- Experience maintaining accurate data records and field notes
Waterfowl Banding Details:
This technician position will last approximately 1 month (~28 July-28 August). This position will assist with capturing and banding ducks in the Yorkton, Saskatchewan area. Ducks will be captured using swim-in traps. Applicants must be physically fit. Duties require routinely lifting items in excess of 50lbs (i.e., crates of birds, bags of grain), wading in unconsolidated wetlands, long hours, and no scheduled days off thru the duration of the banding season.
Travel from LA or AL, or somewhere along the route to Yorkton, SK can be arranged.
