Project Coordinator I
Conroe, Texas
Major Duties: Facilitate site-based conservation and environmental education programing, workshops, seminars, and outreach and other curriculum-based programs featuring Jones State Forest and other public lands within Greater Houston region.
Empower and engage youth through education to become natural resource conservation advocates and understand career pathways toward natural resource careers.
Oversight and training of outreach team members (part-time workers and volunteers) to leverage outreach opportunities within primarily Harris and Montgomery counties but not limited to these counties.
Occasional Duties: Assist Mitigation/Prevention Department with WUI risk assessments, CWPP planning and provide wildfire educational assistance to community based wildfire prevention programs.
Work Experience: None required - Entry level position
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a natural resources related field.
Preferred licenses & special knowledge: Project Learning Tree, Project WET/WILD, Texas Master Naturalist, I-Tree, I-Naturalist, Certified Arborist. Bilingual (Spanish-language speaker). Experience with Microsoft Project.
Comments: Must have or be able to acquire a valid State of Texas drivers license within 30 days of employment.
