    Enjoy lunch on us and hear from professionals as they share their experiences working in various industries focusing on animals.

    Panelists:

    • Alicia Schneider - Humane Educator and Investigator  for the Champaign County Humane Society
      Alicia  educates students and the public about companion animal welfare and safety. She also investigates complaints of animal neglect/cruelty and enforces the requirements listed in the Humane Care for Animals Act.
    • ​Martha McSims - Professional Pet Sitter with Martha McSims Pet Sitting
      Martha’s runs her own pet sitting business, and her responsibilities include: feeding, fresh water, administer medication, play time, walk time, cuddle time, litter box, monitoring behavior, bringing in mail/newspaper, and watering plants. The end of the day responsibilities may include scheduling, returning emails, texts, and phone calls, and bookkeeping. 
    • Ashley Mitek, DVM - Companion Animal ExtensionVeterinarian and Instructor at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine
      Ashely represents the college to the media and general public, addresses emerging issues within veterinary medicine, creates educational programs for veterinarians and the pet-owning public, teaches a course to veterinary students about the art of physical examination, and teaches anesthesia and pain management to veterinary students.
       
    • Sarah Probst Miller - President and Creative Director of AgCreate Solutions, Inc. 
      Dr. Sarah has served as an on-farm pig vet for over 15 years.  Besides offering veterinary services for clientele, AgCreate Solutions specializes in developing creative and immersive educational and marketing experiences for the ag and veterinary industry. AgCreate currently employs 9 techie creatives with a variety of  skills ranging from graphical design to instructional technology to videography to  editorial skills.
