The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is accepting resumes from currently enrolled science students seeking a paid internship position in its Monitoring and Research Department. The position will be located at the Stickney Plant location in Cicero, IL near 39th & Austin Ave.
The prospective intern will be trained on the sample receiving procedure and all issues concerning sample acceptance and chain of custody as well as the use of automated equipment for the cyanide and phenol analyses. Duties will be trained by and performed under the supervision of an experienced laboratory technician and the Associate Environmental Chemist. An interest in working with scientific instrumentation is desirable for this position.
Qualifications:
Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in an environmental, biological, or a chemistry field; have a current residence in Cook County, IL; be a U.S. citizen; and must submit either a referral from the school’s Internship Coordinator or a letter of recommendation from a college professor.
This paid ($13.00/hr) opportunity is available in May 2017.
