Salary: $10-$12/hr

Estimated Start & End Date: June 2017 through October 31, 2017 with possible extension past October 31st
Location of work: Great Rivers Field Station, Alton, Illinois
Duties & Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will assist large river ecologists in the collection of monitoring data. The individual in this position must demonstrate a working knowledge of, and ability to collect biological data, such as fisheries and water quality data in a large river ecosystem. Experience using large boats, outboard motors, trailers, four wheel drive vehicles along with fisheries, water quality, and related field equipment is preferred. Other duties include maintenance and repair of sampling gears, boats, boat trailers, and laboratory equipment, and general field station upkeep.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must have or be in the process of working toward a BS in biology or similar related field. Experience desired in maintaining, launching, and operating boats in navigable waterways and maintaining field equipment. Must be able to swim, perform manual labor in temperature extremes, and have a valid drivers license. Preference will be given to those applicants who can work until October 31, 2017.
