This position, Wood Products and Biomass Utilization Program Coordinator, is responsible for promoting and facilitating the beneficial use and manufacture of wood products and biomass from forest harvests and treatments from all land ownerships across Montana. Overall, this position directs this program in the areas of continuous development, budget management (personnel, operations, and grants), long- and short-term program planning, technical assistance, and general program administration. This position is responsible for day-to-day as well as long-term direction of multiple sub-projects and programs with a lead role in managing funding streams that incorporate multiple grants, securing new funds for programmatic continuation, and performing a wide variety of duties to meet program demands. This work may involve the direct supervision of part-time or full-time employees and/or contractors.
Duties include, but are not limited to, serving as state contact and advisor for wood products and biomass utilization issues and opportunities; interacting with entities ranging from large traditional sawmills to small-scale biomass energy project developers and other end users, as well as state and federal government partners and organizations; serving as leader and project administrator for statewide working groups; developing and implementing outreach, information and education for distinct target audiences; and grant administration.
