Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Habitat Team Program Manager, provides professional and technical assistance in developing and implementing highly complex and comprehensive wildlife management strategies on public and private lands; independently, or as part of a work unit, assists in coordinating and carrying out Regional responsibilities for wildlife resource program plans.
Required Qualifications:
Requires completion of a Bachelor's Degree in wildlife management, or in a directly related biological science (e.g. zoology, environmental biology, ecology, conservation biology, natural resources management). Requires completion of an agency approved training program or one year of professional experience in wildlife resource management which includes bird and mammal field identification and life histories, inventory and census techniques, trapping and banding procedures, relocation methodologies, habitat requirements and management; working knowledge of agricultural practices and methods with emphasis on use, maintenance and repair of seeding, planting and tillage equipment; working knowledge of agricultural methods and research processes and resources pertinent to wildlife management; requires basic knowledge of biological statistics and statistical methods; requires familiarity with common wildlife diseases and their etiology transmission and relative importance to human and domestic animals; working knowledge of federal and state rules and rule making processes including CFR, ILCS and Administrative Rules. Requires ability to obtain a pesticide applicators license. Requires possession of a valid appropriate Driver's License.
