JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will assist the Division Chief and Department to maintain a high level of involvement and good working relationships with agencies, state and federal; state forestry agencies; the Natural Resources Commission; the Michigan Legislature; universities; and constituent groups throughout Michigan. Serve as Assistant Division Chief to Forest Resources Division. Assist in the overall management of forestry, land use and resource protection programs. Directly supervise and oversee budget and operations for the three Lansing Section Managers and the Field Coordinator who oversees field operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.
ALTERNATE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements
