Position or Title: Summer Seasonal Fisheries Technician

Responsibilities: Field and Hatchery technicians (N=4) are needed to assist in ongoing lake sturgeon research. Field work includes capture of adults, collection of gametes and larvae using multiple sampling techniques, collection of stream physical and biotic data, assisting with experiments in stream and lab. In addition, technicians will assist in fish production and experimental research in a stream-side facility.
Qualifications: Applicants should have an interest in fisheries science, be enrolled in a biological degree program such as fisheries, zoology, natural resources or allied fields, or completed BS degree. Valid driver’s license is required. Experience with handling of live fish, use of fisheries sampling and assessment equipment, computer operation, and hatchery experience would be beneficial. Special consideration given to candidates with experience identifying macroinvertebrates and PADI Scuba certification.
Salary: $12/hr plus room/board
