Program Overview
The REU will be in person in Montana and Minnesota from June 10 to August 7, 2025, with June 9 and August 8 designated as travel dates.
To complete the 10 weeks required by the REU, participants will spend 40 hours of pre-REU time working remotely. During this time, participants will do online tutorials, create a basic Arc GIS Story Map, and meet on Zoom with REU mentors and participants.
We will start our journey at Glacier National Park in Montana on June 10 then begin work at our research sites. At the end of the REU (the last full week in August), we have an All-Team Gathering and Research Symposium in Minneapolis, MN. All transportation is provided.
The program provides transportation, housing, and food or full kitchens depending on location, plus a $700/week stipend (total $7000) to all participants. Students who choose to live in their own housing rather than program-provided housing will not receive further compensation for housing costs.
