Full-time, term position with the following duties:
- Compiles and evaluates data on damage or hazards caused by various wildlifespecies. Conducts animal damage control activities.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other agencies, organizations,institutions, industry groups and individuals in meeting program needs and goals.Represents the WS Program at meetings, conferences, and workshops with thesegroups.
- Assists customers in obtaining migratory bird depredation permits when migratorybirds are causing significant damage to property, agriculture, natural resources andhuman health and safety.
- Drafts documents required by NEPA, including categorical exclusions andenvironmental assessments at the project level.
- Recommends areas for potential research or potential involvement inwildlife damage problems in the community. Incumbent assists the National WildlifeResearch Center in projects, as requested.
- Prepares required scientific and administrative program reports.
- Collects biological specimens for wildlife disease sampling purposes.
