The Henry County Natural Area Guardians of Illinois, a sub-committee of the Henry County Soil and Water Conservation District, will offer one (1) $500 scholarship to a college student presently in their sophomore or junior year at an institution of higher learning who is pursuing a career in the area of conservation and/or the environment. First consideration is given to residents of Henry County, IL.
Scholarship will be paid directly to the student. Award will be made after the following instructions have been completed and submitted for consideration:
- Completed application form (see document linked below)
- Copy of the applicant’s most recent unofficial transcript
- If the applicant will be transferring to a college other than the one in which he is currently enrolled, a copy of the letter of acceptance or admission must be sent,
OR
If the applicant is already enrolled in the school in which he plans to continue study, a letter from the college must be sent stating that the applicant is a student in good standing
All of the above information will be considered in determining the recipient of the scholarships to be awarded. If there is not sufficient space to answer any question, attach a separate sheet of paper to the application. ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE HELD IN STRICT CONFIDENCE. A personal interview may be requested at a later time. Scholarship recipients may be asked to submit a photo for newspaper release when winners are announced.
