Job Description
Under direct supervision of the Drinking Water Compliance Section Manager, Division of Public Water Supplies (DPWS), Bureau of Water (BOW), participates in an Agency sponsored training program up to twelve months' duration, receiving work assignments designed to develop knowledge, understanding, and practical skills consistent with various professional life sciences career disciplines with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Receives training, observes, and participates in duties related to the sampling, water quality data, and laboratory analysis of public water supplies to assure safe drinking water throughout the State. Observes, attends and participates in staff meetings, conferences, workshops, and other activities. Travels in performance of duties.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in some field of the life sciences. This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires the ability to prepare comprehensive written and oral reports. Requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Requires the ability to profit from training received in the designated area of state government. Requires the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees and agency representatives.
Specific Job Requirements: Requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel. Requires the ability to utilize a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software.
