Stewardship Coordinator: PMSC AmeriCorps
Term: 1-2 Years
Location: State College, PA.
Position Summary:
The primary goal of this position is to ensure that all land and water restoration initiatives are successful. Primary job responsibilities include, riparian buffer stewardship, tree care & planting, invasive species control, organize volunteer workdays, volunteer and landowner communication, assist with conservation easement monitoring. Other opportunities include assist with riparian project development & management and program-related grant writing, coordinate Master Naturalist Program. A demonstrated passion for working with people and coordinating details to achieve conservation and restoration is critical for success in this position.

- US citizen, US national, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the U.S.
- At least 18 years old
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Pass background check
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management or related field desired
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility and sense of humor
- Experience and comfort being able to conduct field work by yourself in uneven terrain and inclement weather
- Experience training and educating community members and volunteers
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania natural communities
- Plant identification, specifically native trees and shrubs, invasive species
- Tree planting experience highly desirable
- Experience with Microsoft and Excel
- Ability to manage multiple projects and details and organize own schedule
