Position Summary:
The individual in this role will be primarily responsible for providing helath education development support to the Toxicology and Assessment Section. This position will work in cooperation with technical subject-area experts throughout the Division of Environmental Health, in addition to external stakeholders, to design culturally appropriate environmental health information, environmental health education, and environmental health promotion activities to reduce environmental health risk and promote better health.
Major Duties:
- Support the development and implementation of risk communication protocols, strategic educational campaigns, and/or study recruitment efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to technical teams on health and risk communication best practices.
- Conduct literature searches and identify best practices with regard to risk communication and environmental health education.
- Collaborate with various entities at the state and community-levels on health education and promotion activities.
- Assist in development of Health Education protocols and reporting procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evaluation and quality improvement efforts.
- Assess and respond to regional needs for training and support for specific projects and opportunities.
- Participate in public meetings, training events, and telephone conversations as needed.
- Provides additional support to the section and department on an as-needed basis.
