Responsibilities:
- Archive and organize Center data while ensuring its protection for future use in research and policy making for the Center.
- Work collaboratively to respond to comments and direct messages on social media platforms and email in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in developing engaging content, including, but not limited to, newsletters, infographics, videos, and press releases, for distribution on social media, traditional news outlets, and the Center’s website.
- Produce materials that may include, but are not limited to, posters, brochures, newsletters, flyers, displays, and special event promotions.
- Adhere to Illinois Water Resources Center branding and style guidelines.
- Record meeting minutes.
- Assist with the coordination of the Algal Bloom Action team including, but not limited to, scheduling bi-monthly webinars, recruiting webinar presenters, and organizing an annual research symposium.

- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in graphic design is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors clearly and concisely on project status.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills; strong attention to detail.
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate program.
Minimum starting salary is $14 per hour but wages for the successful candidate(s) will be commensurate with experience. The candidate will be expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during standard business hours (M-F, 8 am to 5 pm), but scheduling is otherwise flexible and will accommodate the student’s class schedule and U of I holidays and breaks. This will be a remote work position until remote work needs change.
