12.What does a typical day look like?
Constantly changes day to day, but usually I check reporting for the campaigns that I am managing, check in with my internal teams to ensure everything is running smoothly for upcoming campaigns, am the key contact regarding campaigns with clients, etc.
13.What do you most enjoy about your job?
Being held accountable for everything that goes on with the launch of a campaign. I am also constantly being turned to for ways to better processes and the way our company works and being the youngest in my company, I think that speaks volumes!
14.What is the most difficult aspect of the job?
Staying organized - I am a huge advocate of to-do lists and timelines!
15.What on-campus activities were you involved with? Where did you gain relevant experience?
American Advertising Federation, National Student Advertising Competition, Chi Omega, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Illini Media. Gained the most valuable experience from AAF and NSAC that prepared me enormously for the advertising world.
16.How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your professional life? For this specific position?
Illinois and the College of Media are huge advocates of internships, specifically with advertising so I took all the advice and made sure I was actively doing internships that would prepare me for jobs outside of college. Those internships ultimately led me to OMD and then Townsquare Media.
17.What advice do you have for students interested in this field?
INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS, INTERNSHIPS!
18.What is one thing that you know now that you wish you had known when you started in the field? When you graduated from the College?
I wish [that while I was in school the] College of Media provided more information regarding the sales side of advertising, as I felt like I only learned what happened in an agency setting.
