What are your job responsibilities/duties?
My main role is to manage clients across a multitude of leading projects for creative, digital, content and implementation strategy advertising campaigns including global marketing opportunities and clients!
What does a typical day look like?
It is never the same - usually involves collaborating with the team, keeping projects moving and lots of coffee.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
The people! I am so fortunate to be surrounded by driven, creative and passionate people.
I also enjoy helping people aka our clients solve problems.
What is the most difficult aspect of the job?
Trying to know our client's product better than they know it.
What on-campus activities were you involved with? Where did you gain relevant experience?
I was involved with WPGU 107.1 on the social media team - has truly helped shape my professional development. I also helped launch The Verge site - it began as a research project with my professor.
I was also in a sorority where I met my best friends.
How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your professional life? For this specific position?
By challenging me to push the work / idea further - always asking more questions and staying constantly curious. Also, from a professional standpoint, I learned a lot about networking and the right way to expand and obtain my network.
What advice do you have for students interested in this field?
Stay constantly curious, be proactive, never stop asking questions. And, the industry is a very work hard play hard business!
What is one thing that you know now that you wish you had known when you started in the field? When you graduated from the College?
Great question - work and your career are critical however, they are not everything and it is a marathon not a sprint. Remember you have a life outside of the office. Always remain positive and true to who you are! Don't let "the real world" scare you - it's super fun!
