What are your job responsibilities/duties?
I oversee the day-to-day communications and strategies between businesses and social media influencers. Additionally, I help develop long-term social media marketing strategies for influencer marketing campaigns.
What does a typical day look like?
Every day is different! We work with a wide variety of clients and influencers, which makes each day unique. Some constants would be monitoring ongoing campaigns and maintaining business and influencer relationships.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the fact that each day is different! Influencer marketing is a developed industry, so it is exciting to be able to be a part of its growth.
What is the most difficult aspect of the job?
The unpredictability of the job is both a pro and a con; it certainly keeps things interesting, but also presents a number of challenge.

How did your experience at ILLINOIS and in the College of Media prepare you for your professional life? For this specific position?
The high standards the journalism dept. had for us certainly prepared me for this fast-paced, constantly changing field. Working on deadlines, coming up with engaging angles, and the ability to communicate to the masses has certainly served me well so for in this and all of my previous roles.
What advice do you have for students interested in this field?
Get in while you can! There are lots of internships and opportunity out there for those who are eager to get into this developing field.
What is one thing that you know now that you wish you had known when you started in the field? When you graduated from the College?
Don't be afraid to take risks! I took a chance on this start up and have gotten invaluable experience so far.
