Illinois Strategic International Partnerships (ISIP) has negotiated, processed, and executed 142 new or renewed inter-institutional collaboration agreements, in the last year. These new partnerships support collaborative activities in 32 different countries around the world, and were negotiated on behalf of 37 different academic and administrative units, representing nine different colleges across campus. During this same period, ISIP coordinated and hosted visits to our campus by 31 delegations of foreign visitors from 13 different countries. These visiting delegations included senior leadership from leading universities, Foreign Service diplomats and heads of state, and engaging a similarly broad constituency of campus academic units and research institutes.
Through ISIP’s work, the University was nationally recognized nationally for the Illinois-Sweden Program for Educational and Research Exchange (INSPIRE), when it received the Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education (in January 2016). ISIP’s portfolio of partnerships enhances the University’s global reputation, while also ensuring a continual exchange of ideas among the top institutions in the world, a quality which exponentially multiplies capacity for innovation.
