The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is excited to share that we have taken an important step in a long-term project to unify campus marketing efforts. The University has returned to the large, orange letter “I”, what we call the “Block I,” as our single logo. Part of this initiative involves retiring the use of “UIUC” as an acronym for our campus, referring to ourselves as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, or more simply, “Illinois.”
We hope this announcement will help limit confusion as we change our account names and begin using Illinois to refer to the University in our posts.
We strongly believe this change will strengthen our global brand by presenting a refreshed, modern version of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to the world, as we continue to provide transformative learning experiences for many years to come.
