Guangzhou, China, March 31, 2018—The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign was the recipient of the Employers’ Choice University Career Service Award at the 3rd Annual Global University Career Development Conference this past March. The award was jointly presented by Lockin China and the Global University China Career Union and was based on interviews and data collected from nearly 1,000 universities, 200,000 overseas and foreign students, and nearly 20,000 Chinese enterprises.
The China Overseas Talent Employment Service Awards Ceremony has become the highlight of the Global University Career Development Conference. The Award is the only of its kind in China that specifically recognizes the overseas talent recruitment industry and overseas universities that have made outstanding contributions to overseas talent acquisition. Fifty representatives from overseas universities’ career services offices and more than ten prominent employers were present at the ceremony. A total of five awards were presented at the ceremony, which recognized the development and achievements of China's overseas talent recruitment drive in 2017.
Among the nearly 1,000 overseas universities up for consideration, Illinois was one of thirty recipients selected as an “Employers’ Choice University.” This is the second consecutive year that Illinois has been recognized for its exceptional career services, having previously been recognized as the "Most Preferred University by Company" based on the University’s activeness of working with employers to solve the problems of talent acquisition in China. Lockin praised Illinois' strong commitment to providing career services for their students.
