Introduction to the functions of individual decision-makers, both consumers and producers, within the larger economic system. Primary emphasis on the nature and functions of product markets, the theory of the firm under varying conditions of competition and monopoly, and the role of government in prompting efficiency in the economy. 3 undergraduate credit hours

Section Information:
- BL1 Lecture (DiIanni) MUST be paired with a BQ Discussion (Quiz) Section, and they must be added at the same time when registering. This is in-class for both the lecture twice per week and the discussion.
- No overrides will be provided (sections are not restricted; we do not provide overrides for full sections).
- 1 and 2 (Vazquez) are COMBINED in-class lecture twice per week at a scheduled time, and online discussion. Discussion is asynchronous, meaning there is not a set meeting time, just activities and assignments to complete weekly. Classroom review sessions by TAs will be weekly for students needing review on the material or who have additional questions. Further direction will be provided in class.
- No overrides will be provided (sections are not restricted; we do not provide overrides for full sections).
- CHP (McMillen) is for Campus Honors Students only.
- Overrides will only be given with approval from the CHP office and the instructor (most likely only if seats remain at the start of the Fall semester).
- HON (Vazquez) is for James Scholar Students only.
- Overrides will only be given with approval from the LAS James Scholar Office and the instructor (most likely only if seats remain at the start of the Fall semester).
- U1 (Grad Student) will be for students in a Living Learning Community. All approved communities are listed in the course explorer.
Restrictions will be lifted on 8/25/17 so all students may register for any open seats. No overrides will be provided (students should contact the LLC if they are having problems with registration to ensure they have the student attribute).
