Anthony Kakooza, who is a visiting Professor at the College of Law, has been appointed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as co-chair of the Ad Hoc Expert Group on Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions. The Expert Group will be meeting at the WIPO Headquarters in Geneva on December 4, 2022 to address specific legal, policy or technical issues. The results of their work will guide the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) in its deliberations related to coming up with international instruments in the protection of Traditional Knowledge and Folklore.
