In a statement issued on Thursday, June 29, 2023, Interim Provost William Bernhard announced that Verity Winship has been appointed to serve as interim dean designate of the College of Law, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.
The Provost's Office is in the final stages of the search process to recruit the next permanent dean, and anticipates concluding that search and announcing the new dean soon. Professor Winship has agreed to serve in this interim role until the next dean’s appointment begins. During this time, she will also continue managing the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs portfolio.
Professor Winship has been a member of College of Law faculty since 2010. Most recently, she served as associate dean for academic affairs. She is a national expert on business law and complex litigation. Her research focuses on corporate litigation, securities enforcement, and disputes that cross legal systems, and she also serves as a faculty affiliate for the Center for Global Studies, the European Union Center and the Cline Center. Professor Winship earned a B.A. and J.D. from Harvard University.
