In a recent ruling, the US Supreme Court favors prosecutors’ broad reading of conspiracy law in a 5-3 ruling that stems from the case of a Baltimore police officer who took kickbacks from auto shop, according to the Wall Street Journal. Professor Andrew Leipold, the director of the College's Program in Criminal Law and Procedure, tells the WSJ “Conspiracy is a very potent prosecutorial tool, and this just makes it easier to charge.”
