On Friday, April 1, Professors Heidi Hurd and Ralph Brubaker will be hosting bankruptcy scholars from around the nation for a Roundtable on the Ethics of Bankruptcy at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business.
Professor Hurd, who is the Distinguished Visiting Ethics Professor this semester at Georgetown University's School of Business, motivated the organization of this event by orchestrating a partnership between the University of Illinois' Program in Law and Philosophy and the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics.
Among those presenting work at this prestigious event are Professors Hurd and Brubaker, who will invite discussion of draft chapters in their forthcoming co-authored Oxford Press book, Debts and the Demands of Conscience.
Also participating in this event are prominent scholars in bankruptcy and the theory of debt relief from law schools and philosophy departments at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, George Mason University, the University of Connecticut, Iowa State University, and Georgetown University.
