Yue Dai ('16) has won first prize in the 2016 Donald C. Alexander Writing Competition, a national tax writing competition organized by the Federal Bar Association. Her paper,When A Corporation is the Wrongdoer, Who Should Pay the Bill?, was prepared in connection with Professor Kaplan’s Federal Tax Policy Seminar in the fall of 2015.
In addition to prize money, Ms. Dai will attend the Federal Bar Association's Annual Tax Conference in Washington, D.C. next month as a guest of the Association, and her paper will be published in one of the Association's publications.
“Ms. Dai’s paper reflects her skills as a thorough tax researcher and her determination to master legal analysis and writing. That English is not Ms. Dai’s native language makes her winning this national competition even more impressive,” said Professor Kaplan.
