Professor Robin Fretwell Wilson was honored at the University of Illinois Annual Celebration of Diversity, a virtual event in 2020, for her advocacy for LGBTQ affairs. Wilson was a recipient of the Larine Y. Cowan Make a Difference Award, for which she was selected due to her work as one of the creators of “Tolerance Means Dialogue,” an innovative program that is at the forefront of efforts to further the inclusion of LGBTQ+ people in the legal academy and profession.
The Larine Y. Cowan Make a Difference Awards celebrate the achievements of faculty, academic professionals and civil service employees who made significant contributions in creating and sustaining an inclusive living, learning and working community at Illinois. Named in honor of the past Assistant Chancellor and Director of what is now the Office for Access & Equity, the Larine Y. Cowan Awards were created to reflect the commitment to human rights advocacy, social justice, and diversity that defined her leadership for nearly 20 years at Illinois.
The College of Law congratulates Professor Wilson on her achievement.
