The University of Illinois has joined Scholars at Risk, a program designed to help individuals whose lives and work are at risk because of war, political disruption, or natural disaster. Ten scholars from areas such as Afghanistan, Ethiopia, or Ukraine will be able to come to the University to research and study for a year. College of Law Professors Colleen Murphy and Margareth Etienne have been appointed to the Illinois Scholars at Risk Committee for the 2022-2023 academic year. Murphy, who will serve as chair of the committee, told Fox 32 this initiative is an important part of our "mission as a land-grant institution."
