On September 29, 2017, Professor Jay Kesan spoke at the 14^th Annual Symposium on Emerging Intellectual Property Issues at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law in Dallas, TX. He presented some empirical work regarding the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB), an administrative tribunal within the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) that was created in 2011. Others panelists included Stacey White, Lead Administrative Patent Judge at the USPTO, Chris Dunstan, Director of Licensing at Ericsson, and Teresa Rea, Partner at Crowell Moring LLP.
