Professor Verity Winship recently presented her paper An Empirical Study of Amissions in SEC Settlements at the Fifth Annual Corporate Securities & Litigation Workshop.
The Workshop was co-founded in 2013 by Winship and Professor Jessica Erickson (Richmond).
"We had found that many venues existed for presenting and discussing corporate law from a transactional perspective, but few focused on corporate and securities litigation and enforcement, despite their importance in practice and in the literature. We designed this workshop to fill the gap," said Winship.
Illinois hosted the inaugural workshop in 2013 at the Illini Center in Chicago, and hosted again in 2016. The steering committee has grown to include not just Winship and Erickson, but also Professor David Webber (BU) and Professor Jim Park (UCLA), and each of these institutions has hosted it.
The 2017 Workshop was hosted by UCLA in late October, featuring a day and a half of panels, and drawing corporate and securities scholars from all over the U.S. and abroad.
