Professors Suja Thomas and Jason Mazzone were recent guests on Illinois Public Media's radio show The 21st.
Thomas spoke with host Niala Boodhoo about her "passive house," which is an insulated eco-friendly home that requires almost no heat or air conditioning. The passive house trend in the United States began in Urbana, which is where Thomas's house is located.
Later on the same episode, Mazzone joined Boodhoo and Slate journalist April Glazer to discuss Twitter and hate speech.
Twitter recently unveiled tighter restrictions to curb violent, threatening speech and behavior on the platform. Mazzone discussed the potential difficulty of enforcing these guidelines given that no legal definition for what constitutes hate speech actually exists, among other topics.
