Two teams representing the University of Illinois College of Law finished in 1st and 2nd place at the ABA Client Counseling Regional, held February 2-3 at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Twelve teams competed in preliminary rounds to determine which six teams would advance to the semifinal round. Julie Holderman '18 and Ben Paulsen '18 finished the preliminary rounds with the best cumulative score, and Rachel Lauter '19 and Kathleen Wrigley '19 finished only two points behind them. Both teams advanced to the semifinals.
Holderman and Paulsen went on to win the entire competition, and were also chosen to compete in the ABA CCC National Championships in Durham, NC in March. Lauter and Wrigley came in 2nd place, and will be able to compete in the Regional again next year.
Both teams were coached by Professor James Noonan, an alumnus of the College of Law.
