The Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association recently announced awards for the year 2017 at its 25th Annual Conference. One of the awards is the Franklin W. Klein Student Writing Competition Award. This award is given to a law student who has submitted an article for publication on a topic relevant to local government law. In this first year of the awards, the awards were given to the following law students:
1st Place:

These law students have distinguished themselves in submitting articles that were judged publishable and relevant to local government lawyers practice. Each of the awards comes with a monetary stipend as well as recognition at the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Annual Conference. The articles will be published in an upcoming Journal of the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association.
Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association is an organization of attorneys actively representing local governments in Illinois. The mission of the Association is to encourage professional interaction, the sharing of expertise and information among attorneys who represent municipalities, counties, and special districts.
