Professor Robin Fretwell Wilson was a guest on the April 12th episode of Illinois Public Media's The 21st, where she joined in a discussion of how Christian colleges are reconciling the needs and wants of LGBTQ students or staff with religious values that might oppose this.
During the conversation, host Niala Boodhoo asked, "Are there legal precedents that Christian colleges and universities should be following, especially since the legalization of gay marriage?"
"Here, there are threads of the law that would seem to be supporting the University, and trying to contour what it's doing in its position as a leader of its own faith, and then there are threads in the law that say the pastor ought to be able to do some of these things without repercussion, and that's where it gets difficult," Wilson responded.
