On October 19, 2018, the College of Law celebrated the investiture of Jacqueline E. Ross as the Prentice H. Marshall Professor of Law. Professor Ross spoke about her recent work on undercover policing. The formal ceremony was followed by a reception in the Peer and Sarah Pedersen Pavilion.
The Prentice H. Marshall Professor of Law was established through gifts from Jenner and Block, Dan Considine '70, and William Conlon '70 in honor of College of Law alumnus and faculty member Prentice H. Marshall. He is credited with developing the College's Trial Advocacy Program as it exists today, using practicing trial lawyers and sitting judges to help teach the class. In his time at the College, Marshall influenced the legal careers of hundreds of students and trained scores of future successful litigators.
