College of Law alumnus Tyrone Thomas '10 was recently featured in an in-depth profile in ABA Journal. Thomas is a vice president and deputy general counsel at Invenergy and the founder of Conversation for Six, a nonprofit organization focused on expanding ongoing discussions about food insecurity. He spoke about how his own life experience led him to found his nonprofit, the importance of pro bono work, and the impact of the pandemic on the hunger crisis. When asked if he can envision other lawyers creating charitable initiatives as a result of the pandemic, he responded:
"I hope with every fiber of my being that it will be the case. We are all reading the same news and the question is: 'What do you do when you see that story and when you see the aggregate of those stories?' I always love reading about a law firm partner who saw an injustice and fought for good. I always love those stories because they reflect what I’m doing, which is reading, absorbing and recognizing that there is something that I can do."
