The Law Firm Challenge has officially kicked off for another successful year of participation with many of the leading law firms in Illinois. Dozens of law firms with four or more College of Law alumni are competing with their peer firms in this annual event geared towards increasing philanthropic support and engagement with the College of Law. The Law Firm Challenge runs until June 30, and any gifts made to the Challenge also count towards the College of Law’s WITH ILLINOIS campaign.
Philanthropic support by our alumni in the Law Firm Challenge provides resources for a number of important aspects of the College of Law. This support helps fund merit and need-based scholarships, academic programming, clinics, competitions, post-graduate fellowships, building renovation, and much more. Over the last academic year, alumni support through the Law Firm Challenge and other gifts has allowed the College of Law to send students to national and international competitions, host engaging speakers from the private and public sector, enabled faculty research on cutting edge topics, and facilitated the creation of a new experiential learning opportunity for our students with a Veterans’ Affairs clinic.
Firms that meet certain benchmarks throughout the fiscal year are recognized at various alumni events and earn other rewards for their participation. Alumni who volunteer to serve as a Team Leader for their firm also receive special accolades for their support of the Law Firm Challenge.
