Justice Lisa Holder White '93 delivered the keynote address at the inaugural Women Lead WITH Illinois Law Summit on Friday, April 5th. Justice White serves on the Fourth District Appellate Court, where she was the first African American elevated to that position, and she is currently the only woman.
Justice White drew on her own life experiences to inspire and empower the women in the room.
"In my home, our parents instilled in us a strong self of self, an appreciation for being women, high moral standards, confidence in our ability to accomplish any goal we set for ourselves, and enough fire in our bellies to never back down trying to do the right thing," she said.
