Professor Lauren Aronson, director of the Immigration Law Clinic at the University of Illinois College of Law, was recently a guest on Illinois Public Media's radio program, The 21st. Aronson discussed the increase in unaccompanied migrant children across the U.S. and specifically in Illinois, what the journey looks like for them, as well as the legal aid services that are available to them.
"I want to make sure that everyone understands that these children are in detention. In terms of their options, they're really limited, made even more so by the current administration's attacks on the asylum system."
