Professor Michael LeRoy, a labor law expert, was quoted in USA Today and Sports Illustrated on the possibility of NCAA players unionizing as a result of a recent memo released by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The memo states that some college athletes are employees under the National Labor Relations Act. Will players unionize as a result?
“I do think it’ll happen,” LeRoy told Sports Illustrated. “I’d anticipate it happening in the next year and probably sooner.”
