As more employers seek to mandate COVID-19 vaccination, the city of Springfield, Illinois is hoping to do the same for its employees.
Professor Rummana Alam, a health law expert, spoke to ABC affiliate WICS in Springfield.
"The federal government is a really good case scenario to watch," Alam said. "And if the local government are going that way, it is within the state's police power to do it. And we've seen it. We see it in schools K-12 that can mandate vaccinations."
She predicts that vaccine mandates are a trend that will continue, if they're managed correctly.
