Professor Robin Fretwell Wilson, an expert on religious liberty issues, spoke to the Washington Times about the reversal by the Department of Health and Human Services of a Trump-era policy that granted religious-freedom protections to child welfare organizations.
She says the back-and-forth of succeeding presidential administrations in granting and removing religious exemptions to adoption and foster parenting agencies isn’t helpful. “If an administration gives a wholesale exemption from general duties to serve all people, they will not hold onto that approach over time,” Wilson says.
