Dear friends, partners, and colleagues,
This fall has brought exciting developments at Illinois, with the return to on-campus instruction and a familiar vibrancy restored to our university community. GET has continued to adapt, providing both in-person and virtual program options, but our core message remains the same:
You are welcome at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Over the last several months, the GET team has had the privilege of designing and implementing customized programs for international students and scholars from China, Egypt, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, while continuing to sustain our regular semester English language programs at the Intensive English Institute (IEI).
In this edition of the GET newsletter, we spotlight IEI's successes hosting Fulbright students from around the globe. We also feature the experiences of two Bolashak International Scholarship recipients from Kazakhstan, Assel and Kuanysh, who participated in a 6-month training program for higher education administrators with GET.
We are proud to share the stories of the individuals featured in this newsletter. Each of their stories speaks to the tremendous value of prestigious scholarships in supporting international exchange, while showcasing their personal achievements. The stories also highlight the GET and IEI promise: program participants will use their education and training at Illinois to create future impacts, improve society, and positively influence others.
Thank you to our scholars and students and to our collaborators across campus, in the community, and around the world for your continued support. We are moving forward, together.
Best wishes,
Dr. Matt Rosenstein
