Dear friends, partners, and colleagues,
As the world continues to adapt, so too, does our approach to facilitating international learning experiences. As an update to our April 8 message, we are excited to share that GET is now developing online versions of undergraduate summer school programs for international students, with start dates to begin following July 10, 2020. We are communicating on a case-by-case basis with international partner institutions, as well as units and faculty members at Illinois to explore options for academic content that will meet students’ needs.
We are committed to sharing knowledge from experts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, including thought leaders in fields such as accounting and finance, information science, engineering, and economics. Several undergraduate summer school course topics will be offered, with more detailed information to come in the following weeks.
Additionally, we are excited to offer innovative, online English as a Second Language programming through the Intensive English Institute (IEI). These carefully designed ESL courses support our participants in improving their English proficiency for academic, professional, or other purposes. We will share more details about the specific programs and classes available through IEI in the coming weeks.
We are optimistic about our plans in development, and our team is working diligently to shape these summer international online learning experiences. We look forward to sharing the finalized program details soon. As always, we welcome feedback and support from friends and partners of GET – please reach out to us if you have questions or suggestions.
With kindest regards,
Dr. Matt Rosenstein, GET Director
