  • SB Actuaries Positions

    Dear Actuarial Students,

Our advisory board member, Sara Teppema, a long-time supporter and advoate for our program, is looking to hire our students for a new Chicago office for her consulting firm. I also know the company's founder, Dr. Ian Duncan, very well as he is a great pioneer in healthcare analytics and industry-academic parntership. The business is growing very quickly. I think it is a great place to start a career if you are looking for exposure for a wide range of practices. Please consider applying for such positions.

SBActuaries is an actuarial, health care consulting firm specializing in cutting-edge predictive modeling and analytics. We develop economic models to evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and work with sponsors of those interventions to optimize their programs. Our clients include health tech startups, managed care companies, healthcare providers, employers, device manufacturers, and medical decision support companies. Our President and Founder, Ian Duncan, has been a pioneer in this space for over 30 years and his 2 books are on the syllabus for multiple SOA exams.

Our new Chicago office is looking to add one or two qualified full time candidates in the winter or summer of 2022. We would consider one intern as well for the right candidate.  Qualified candidates will have a strong analytics background, a history of demonstrated intellectual curiosity and creativity, an interest in healthcare evaluation, proficiency in statistical coding languages (R/Python/SAS) and ML, proficiency in Excel, excellent written and oral communication skills, desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects at the same time, and preferably be pursuing exams with the SOA. Salary and benefits are market competitive. To apply, please send a cover letter and your resume to:
